Question: Why do outdated 32 bit plug-ins crash when installed on my 64 bit computer? - CLICK HERE FOR ANSWER

Why do outdated 32-bit versions of my Plug-ins crash when I install on a 64 bit computer?

    Solution:

Auto FX Software was originally written during a time when 64-bit operating systems did not exist. Starting in 1994 our plug-ins were written to be compatible with 32-bit operating systems that existed at that time. When computer chip technology grew in the middle of last decade the buying public saw the benefits to upgrade to 64-bit machines.

Windows changed the installation folder for 32-bit programs on a 64-bit operating systems to install into the Program Files (x86) directory. 64-bit programs seen in Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 8 64-bit install into Program Files.

    Program Files Directories

Under-64 bit Windows Programs the OS is expecting 64 bit applications to be installed under Program Files and 32-bit applications to be installed under Program Files (x86). The earlier versions cannot recognize that the folders have been renamed due to the addition of the now 64-bit Program Files directory.

On 64-bit Windows OS you can have both 32 and 64-bit Photoshop Plug-ins installed in parallel.

Adobe describes the benefits between 32-bit and 64-bit Plug-Ins in Photoshop here -

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404901.html

Legacy Auto FX Software containing earlier Plug-ins will run on a 32-bit version but will have to be upgraded for 64-bit computers. Auto FX Software Gen1 handles all of these installation Program File challenges automatically. Simply upgrade and install the latest version of our digital image enhancement software here www.autofx.com/photo-effects-software/buy-upgrade-gen1.html if you have not done so already.

Question: Can I use ICC Color Profiles Customized in Photoshop? CLICK HERE FOR ANSWER

Do Auto FX Software products support custom ICC color profiles?

    Solution:

Our products display the native color data found in the image and do not support calibrated ICC color profiles. For this reason, if you are calibrating your system in Photoshop to match certain ICC profiles your monitor may display images in Photoshop differently than they appear in our plug-ins or stand-alone applications. We display using native RGB color data.

Question: Why do I NOT see Auto FX Software as a Plug-in under Filter in Photoshop. CLICK HERE FOR ANSWER

After installing my Auto FX Software why do I not see my product as a plugin in Photoshop?

    Solution:

The issue is related to the fact that you are using an installer that pre dates the version of Photoshop you are trying to use. For example - if your Photoshop is updated to CC(2014) and you purchased your Gen1 version in Dec 2013 then you need to update your Gen1 installer. Contact customer service for a new download update. If you have a legacy product before Gen1 then you will need to upgrade.

Legacy Auto FX Software containing earlier Plug-ins will run on a 32-bit version but will have to be upgraded for 64-bit computers. Also pre Gen1 software plug-ins are not compatible with the newest versions of Photoshop and other 3rd party software as we no longer offer support for Legacy Auto FX Software.

Auto FX Software Gen1 handles all of these Plug-in installation challenges automatically. Simply upgrade and install the latest version of our digital image enhancement software here www.autofx.com/photo-effects-software/buy-upgrade-gen1.html if you have not done so already.
